We're pleased to share that LRS, together with Prof. Keith Hosking from Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital in Cape Town, developed a custom Ti6Al4V acetabulum implant for a patient with an ilium tumour.
The custom implant was created by using the patient's CT scan to mirror the healthy side of the ilium. This was 3D printed in Ti6Al4V, with trabecular mesh to assist with osseointegration. Surgical models and cutting guides were also provided to ensure accuracy and good alignment during the procedure.
We're grateful for the opportunity to utilise advanced technology in creating personalised implant solutions and to make a positive impact on patient care.
